  • Simon Shimmens

    CHIEF EXECUTIVE

    Simon joined as CEO in February 2024, bringing a broad range of experience from senior strategic and operational roles in the public, private and voluntary sectors, with expertise including enterprise, employment, skills, social housing, health and disability.

    Simon has a strong social compass and is known as a customer champion, with a track record of improving front line services, including latterly in the not-for-profit and voluntary sectors to deliver better outcomes for individuals, families and communities.

    Simon is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA).

  • Karen Brunger

    HEAD OF ADVICE SERVICES

    Karen has been working with Citizens Advice since 2009 and joined CAML in 2017.

    Her role is to meet (and when possible exceed) the requirements set by local and national funders. She is also passionately committed to ensuring clients receive accurate advice and information to clients, to help them deal with issues they face.

    In practice, Karen ensures CAML sees as many clients as possible and that the quality of advice remains consistently high.

  • Bill Petty

    HEAD OF ADVICELINE & FACILITIES

    Bill started at CA Merton and Lambeth as an Adviceline volunteer in 2013 and joined the staff team in 2014. He leads the delivery of our CAML’s Adviceline and is committed to providing easy and efficient access to the charity’s services. He manages a team of dedicated Adviceline staff and volunteers who respond to phone calls and online queries, providing high quality information and support to clients. Bill also leads on facilities, managing the charity’s Information Technology, offices and premises, ensuring the smooth running of all systems used by CAML.

  • Denitsa Ivanova

    HEAD OF PROJECTS & QUALITY

    Denitsa joined CA Merton and Lambeth in July 2023. Her journey with Citizens Advice started as a volunteer in 2017 and she has been working for Citizens Advice since 2019.

    Her role is to ensure that the enormous work completed by the CA Merton and Lambeth team is compliant to the National Citizens Advice rules and requirements.

    For many people in our community, Citizens Advice is the only option for support, and she believes that no one should be left alone to deal with their issues. She is passionate about improving the Local Authority and Social policy, through CAML Research and Campaigns work.
