CAML Summer 2026 Update
As the summer weather is with us and what seems like a prospect of plenty of sunshine, we are pleased to have bright prospects for our clients following receipt of funding for two new initiatives starting in July.
Wimbledon Foundation, who CAML have a long relationship with, are funding a new initiative intending to allow us to deploy more advisors. Wimbledon Foundation have made a fantastic change to provide three years of funding to local charities which is so helpful to particularly the smallest local charities.
We are delighted to be working with a new not-for-profit partner, Thinking Works, to jointly provide helpful energy advice to local residents. Thinking Works have a long track record of providing such valuable energy advice for local residents and we are keen to be part of providing such advice over the next two years, and hopefully beyond.

Volunteer Week 2026
June 1st to June 7th marked Volunteers’ Week 2026, and CAML joined in on the celebrations to thank all of the tremendous volunteers that support our team and make all of this possible.
As part of these celebrations CAML Team members attended a Volunteers’ Week event in Battersea hosted by Link UP London, which gave us the chance to chat with and discover other organisations along with highlighting the power of volunteering.
A good turn out and wonderful time, all in the name of volunteering. Here’s to another year of making a difference.
Amari’s Tribunal Win
We see many different issues come through our doors and phone lines. With Benefit concerns are one of our most seen issues when clients reach out to CAML for help.
For people like Amari, we’ve been able to lend a hand in appeals and allow people to obtain the correct amount of benefits for their needs.
From Volunteer to Paid Staff
Richard was a volunteer with CAML, key word being was, as he’s now joined a fellow Citizens Advice branch as a full-time employee, where he’s displaying and putting to use the skills, knowledge and experience he gained while being a volunteer with our team.
Richard put his Citizens Advice story into words, although I’m sure this won’t be the last positive story and will have many more amazing tales to tell in the future.
We have a wide variety of volunteering roles. Find out more here:
CAML is keen to partner with other organisations where joint working can support more clients, so if you’re interested in partnering with Citizens Advice Merton & Lambeth and wish to discuss potential opportunities, please contact Simon Shimmens, our Chief Executive.
