CAML Cost of Living Campaign 2023

Citizens Advice Merton and Lambeth (CAML) is launching a new CAML Cost of Living Campaign 2023.

The impact for families and individuals of the Cost of Living Crisis is unlike anything CAML has ever experienced.

During the summer months demand for CAML’s support and complexity of advice issues was significantly higher than the same period last year.

Winter 2023/2024 is expected to be as bad if not worse than 2022 and evidence suggests the Cost of Living Crisis is turning into a debt disaster for the UK.

In August (usually a quieter month) an average of 119 local residents called CAML Advicelines every day.

On-the-day demand at CAML offices (not clients with pre-booked appointments) is at record highs.  We’re now experiencing residents queuing outside offices before and during opening hours for our support.

You can read some of our clients’ stories below:

Danait feels in control

Eileen stays put

Kathleen has a new bed

Rod finds a way through

We simply are unable to support this unprecedented level of demand.

Help us to support the tens of thousands of residents from across Merton and Lambeth needing urgent advice support by making a donation to CAML as part of our Cost of Living Campaign.

As Suzanne, CAML Chief Executive explains, “Demand for CAML’s services continues to rise week by week. Summer months demand and complexity of advice issues has been significantly higher than last year.  Winter 2023 is expected to be as bad, if not worse than 2022.  Your donation will enable us to support families and individuals in need at this incredibly difficult and challenging time.”

We are an independent charity and have been supporting individuals and families in need since 1939.  Demand for our services is at record highs.  Your donation will make all the difference.
