Debt support in Merton & Lambeth
It’s not surprising that more people are getting into debt than ever before. Along with many other causes, debt can be a consequence of work problems, relationship breakdowns, sickness and benefit delays. If you are falling behind on your bills, get in touch with CAML today, and remember: it’s better to get help as soon as possible.
When you contact us, please try to have all of your bills to hand, if possible – this will make it easier for us to identify the most appropriate options and next steps available to you. Our Merton & Lambeth debt advice will also ensure that you and your family are receiving all of the benefits and other income you are entitled to, to help ease any financial pressure.
There is also a lot of help available online covering a wide range of issues, including rent arrears, mortgage problems, explaining pensions, and gambling problems.

How Adviceline works – an example:

A client calls Adviceline with two issues. They need help with completing a disability benefits application and they have an unrelated query about a relative’s will. Our Adviceline Officer completes a telephone assessment exploring both issues. The officer books an appointment with our Merton Disability Benefits adviser. We also explain how probate works referencing information on Citizens Advice website.
The client is also signposted to the local law centre if they require legal support. Following the call, the officer sends an email to the client with details of their appointment, links to the information provided and details of how to contact the law centre.
