Looking to Volunteer?
Citizens Advice Merton and Lambeth is a local charity dedicated to providing information, support and advice to individuals and families who live, work or study in Merton and Lambeth. We also work to raise awareness and understanding of the challenging issues affecting our clients and communities.
Volunteers help support our services and our work right across the charity. Our amazing team of volunteers help us to achieve much more than we would be able to achieve alone.
We have several different volunteering roles, designed to fit with different interests and availability. If you are interested in helping people, and have a minimum of 3-4 hours to volunteer on at least one day per week, then we would love to hear from you.
You don’t need any specific advice experience for any of our volunteering roles. For most roles you’ll need to be good with people and enthusiastic about helping others, and be 18 or over. Volunteers come from all walks of life, helping us to reflect the needs of the clients we serve and the work we do.
You could be part of our telephone service, Adviceline, or helping people who visit our offices in person, or supporting us with other areas of our work, like fundraising or as a trustee. You could be in one of our main offices in Mitcham, Morden or Streatham Hill, or in an outreach location in the community.
Whatever you do, you’ll be fully trained and supported, you’ll build your skills, experience and confidence, and you will really help people in your community.
Would like to apply? See our current volunteering vacancies and make an application for the role you are most interested in. Once you’ve applied, we will review your application. The next step will be a short interview to check the role is right for you, and to give you the chance to find out more.
We bring together training groups for the advertised roles regularly, usually within a few weeks of applying if you are available. We will discuss your availability with you once you have applied.
